  20. The  first  single,  I Feel You  shows
  21. very  clearly  that  Depeche  Mode  of
  22. today  is  more an ordinary rock group
  23. than an absolutely  synthesizer  based
  24. group. It makes me wonder if it really
  25. is  the same  group that in the begin-
  26. ning of the eighties had  Kraftwerk as
  27. ð
  28. their models. They have matured a lot.
  29.   However all the songs are not in the
  30. same  style  as  I.F.Y.,  some of them
  31. are actually very much alike the songs
  32. on Violator,  Music For The Masses  as
  33. well as Black Celebration.
  34.   As usual Martin Gore has written all
  35. the songs, and he has done a good work
  36. I think.
  37.   This is definitely  not  their  best
  38. album, but it is worth buying for both
  39. old as well as new DM fans!

  46. It has a very heavy sound  and a great
  47. atmosphere, but is a bit gloomy though
  48. the lyrics are quite romantic. However
  49. the song is very good, especially when
  50. played loud!

  52. ¤52. Walking In My Shoes  5:33       92%¤1

  54. Oh,  it's just great!  It begins quite
  55. calmly, but gradually it thrives to be
  56. a real hit. Yet the song seems to have
  57. a  bigger  potential   than  they  are
  58. using,  so hopefully they will release
  59. a mixed version later. I'm waiting for
  60. it!

  62. ¤53. Condemnation  3:18              80%¤1

  64. This reminds me  a bit  about  the old
  65. Depeche Mode,  perhaps just a bit, but
  66. anyway!  The song has  kind of a black
  67. shaping,  but that is something an old
  68. Depeche Mode fan  should be used to by
  69. now.  Furthermore it's  very  cool and
  70. quite beautiful actually.

  74. Another  black shaped song.  Depressed

  77. I don't  know,  but  perhaps  Gore  is
  78. having a boring life...

  83. Somehow this song  reminds me a bit of
  84. Somebody (Some Great Reward, 1984). It
  85. is just a feeling. Anyway, it's really
  86. a beautiful song  that should be  per-
  87. fect to have in the background anytime
  88. I'd say.  It has quite a gloomy ending
  89. though.

  94. A very dark and gloomy song. It sounds
  95. exactly  as it has been taken from the
  96. Black Celebration album.   It is  very
  97. hard to judge, but I like it!

  101. This song is actually quite jolly,  at
  102. least compared to the others.  The end
  103. is one of the weirdest though.

  108. The refrain is real fast, but the rest
  109. is  at  the  normal speed,  quite slow
  110. that is.  This  is  perhaps  the  most
  111. sorrowful song of them all,  but it is
  112. actually good.

  117. Another  song  in  the same  style  as
  118. Judas. Really soft and beautiful!  And
  119. the  strings  in  the  background  are
  120. great,  perfectly arranged and conduc-
  121. ted by Wil Malone.

  126. a gloomy record with a gloomy song? DM
  127. obviously thought the same way,  since
  128. this  is  the last track.   Do I sound
  129. negative?
